As every Roman tried to screw me over for an extra 4- 10 euros it made me realise that the West isn't as poor as it believes. The deluxe rooms weren't as deluxe, and the food wasn't so tasty at 30 euros a pop as it used to be. Brings me to the conclusion that all we pay for as travelers is the atmosphere and some scenery. But 8 euros a beer??? Come on, Rome.
